Intrig is a privately held independent software vendor founded in 1996.
Intrig is a technology driven company whose goal is to write quality desktop software with an emphasis on performance and user experience. Intrig's flagship product is the Intrig Data Monitor.
As indicated above, we have been around for a while, since before the dot-com bust. Intrig began thriving in 2000. We were growing with paying customer and many prospects, as well as an office in downtown Fort Worth, Texas. We were selling an enterprise level version of our current product. Those were exciting and crazy times! We were turning away work and getting cold calls from people wanting to invest.
But it was short lived. By 2002 our paying customers canceled their contracts, and not only did our potential customers stop talking, many of them disappeared. I was forced to let everyone go, and close the office. It was a great team of quality guys. We all remain friends to this day. In fact, as I write this, one of them came over to work today and is sitting next to me.
I could have blamed our demise on the dot-com bust, and leave it at that. But after some painful introspection, I realized the business had some systemic problems and it would equally accurate to say its success was due to the dot-com boom!
At least now I had a chance to catch my breath. I went back to the drawing board and took the time to revamp the business model and rework Intrig's technology on my own schedule. This time with no customers or release dates to worry about. And the first thing to come out of this "new Intrig" is what you see today.
